Remembering Lou Holtz Cecil's Coach

A message from Cecil Campbell, Owner, Cecil’s Tractors: It’s with a heavy heart we share the news of Lou Holtz’s passing. As someone who had the honor of playing offensive line for Coach Holtz at NC State, I can say firsthand he was more than a coach — he was a teacher, a motivator, and a man who demanded the best from every player who wore his colors. Coach Holtz shaped the men in that locker room with toughness, faith, and a relentless belief in hard work. The lessons he taught on and off the field have stayed with me through life and through running Cecil’s Tractors. Because of his influence, a core group of former NC State players from that era have stayed in touch — we’ve stuck together for 50 years. My deepest condolences go out to his family, his players, and all who were inspired by him. He was one of the greatest football coaches of all time, and his legacy will live on in every life he touched.
